Solidarity Rock is an artist run organization working to partner musicians, artists and creative people in Cuba, Canada and eyond. Since 2008, we have been working to collect instruments and musical equipment to help our friends in Cuban rock bands find their own way through music.

Solidarity Rock Vancouver Benefit, tonight!

Last weekend brought some pretty harsh weather, and we missed the Winnipeg benefit show. As expected, the Peg came through with a reported turn out of 120 people, and a nice donation haul of several guitars, basses, a drum kit, guitar amp, trumpet, bongos, and more.

Next week, Kids on Fire and Arrabio will make rock n roll history with a groundbreaking Cuba tour. This is only the third ever rock tour through Cuba, and it’s the second official Solidarity Rock tour.

Tonight, we’re in Vancouver, getting ready for what should be a great night! AK-747’s, The Receptionists and Anti-Party will be playing in solidarity with our Cuban friends. It’s great to see people come together to support the idea that people who are united can do amazing things.
